Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.

Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.

Psalm 105:1-2

Wheaton Chinese Alliance Church Celebrates 40th Anniversary

View Counts (383) |Return|

In 1977, Alliance pastor David Wong and his wife Nancy were sent by the Vancouver Chinese Alliance Church to the western suburbs of Chicago to plant a church serving Chinese. In April of 1978 the first worship service was held. Today, Wheaton Chinese Alliance Church (WCAC) continues its original mission of making disciples of Jesus.  We serve infants through seniors with ministries in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.

Earlier this year in April we gathered to celebrate what God has done in our midst.  We had skits, songs, a slide show recalling the past forty years, a greeting from Midwest District Superintendent Rev. Jon Rich and a message from Rev. David Wong.  Several former pastors members joined us, some traveling from out of town. We hope that the attached pictures give you a few highlights of the evening.

The elders of WCAC have chosen as our theme verse for this year, “until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,” (Ephesians 4:13).  By God’s grace we hope to attain what Scripture calls us to.
